Why's he running, Dad? Because we have to chase him. He didn't do anything wrong. Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him. because he can take it. Because he's not a hero. He's a silent guardian... Because the dark knight is so deep compared to other films. It goes into morality and how people can be corrupted from good to evil. From sanity into madness. The dark knight is when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object. It has the best conflict and plot of any comic film ever made by far.

If we're going by later scenes, specifically the one at the hospital, the Joker makes it clear that he doesn't really know what he'd do if he caught one of them. He doesn't have some grand plan, he just does things that he knows will cause more chaos and panic.

Even though hes gone now Im so happy I saw it not knowing he had died, it made the experience so different. Still my favorite actor of all time.
